My Muji Storage, Autumn Rotation

IMG_3281

I have finally joined the Muji club and I must say I’m one happy camper! Before this marvelous contraption arrived at my front door step I had all my everyday makeup in a Zuca bag. It was such a pain in the ass to get ready every morning rummaging through the depths of that black hole (dramatization). Now I have things somewhat categorized and easy to access. On the top of the drawers are items that obviously don’t fit in the drawers. The first drawer is all base products, the second drawer is cheeks, and the last is a mix of eyes plus lips.

At the tippy top I have my 3 current foundations I’ve been using which are Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation, YSL Le Tient Touche Eclat and  Jouer’s Matte Moisture Tint. They’re all great bases for this time of year because I am a bit paler and the coverage is a bit higher than my summer bases. I also keep my Dior Creme De Rose lip balm which I use first before I even apply my makeup to prep the lips. My current powder of choice is the Chanel Loose Powder which is obnoxiously huge but so luxe feeling! My Chanel eyelash curlers are something I also use to prep the lashes before mascara and a must have for me. I have a few eye brushes in a Diptyque candle jar I’ve recycled (cliché brush holder I know but I’ve ordered another). My Jo Malone Cologne and mini Daisy perfume have been my scent of choice as of late. I decided to keep Burberry’s Complete Eye Palette in 02 Mocha just for those days that I can’t be bothered to put on any eyeshadow, but if I change my mind I can just chuck it in my bag because its right in front of me.

mujidrawers4So first drawer is up and I keep all my concealers, brow pencils, bronzers and highlighters. I have more than one option because it all comes down to how my skin is behaving. There are products I want to use up as well so If they’re in front of me the more likely I am to use them.

First Drawer Contents : Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, Chanel Les Bieges in No 30, Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Bronzer, Nars Pro-Prime Eyeshadow base, Dior Skinflash Booster Pen in 003,YSL Touche Eclat in 3, M.A.C Mineralize Concealer in NC33, Anastasia Brow Wiz in Brunette, Hourglass Brow Sculpting Pencil in Dark Brunette, Jouer Highlighter in Champagne, Bobbi Brown Corrector in Corrector in Peach, Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger.

mujidrawers5Second drawer is filled with cheeks and products that couldn’t fit in the first drawer. I’ve been into the neutral colors as the weather is starting to change. I still have some peaches just in case I want a little pick me up!

Second Drawer Contents : Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Powder Pink, Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight, Nars Sin Blush, Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer in 03, Jouer Blush in Peach Bouquet, Jouer Bronzer in Suntan, Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, Le Blush Creme de Chanel in Fantastic, and Burberry Blush in Blossom.

mujidrawers6Last but not least is the shadow and lip drawer. I don’t have too many lip products just because I pick a color and chuck it in my bag, I tend to stick with the same lip color day-to-day anyway. I’ve been reaching for more taupe and grayish purply shades for eyes. You all know I stick to my drugstore waterproof mascaras which are a must for my stubborn straight lashes.

Third Drawer Contents : Loreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions WP Mascara, Maybelline WP Full & Soft Mascara, Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, Anastasia Brow Gel, Rimmel Scandal Eyes Pencil in Purple, M.A.C Teddy Eye Kohl, M.A.C Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Raven, Clinique Chubby Eye Stick in Fuller Fudge, Clinique Chubby Eye Stick in Lavish Lilac, Loreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Bronzed Taupe, Loreal Eye Shadow in Amber Rush, M.A.C Pro Long-wear Eyeshadow in Uninterrupted, Burberry Eye Shadow in Almond, Burberry Eye Shadow in Pale Barley, Chanel Ombres Contraste Duo in Sable-Emouvant, Jouer Lipstick in Simone, Dior Addict Extreme in 316 Incognito, Burberry Lip Glow in Nutmeg, Jouer Eye Shadow in Cappuccino, Jouer Eye Shadow in Chocolat, and Jouer Eyeshadow in Meringue.

All in all these are a great investment considering other acrylic storages can cost up to $100 to $300 bucks which is a bit ridiculous to me. I originally wanted the 5 drawer set but it was sold out of course so i’ll be ordering another 3 drawer set to stack over this one. For $30 you really can’t beat that!

  1. I’m so thinking of buying a new make up organizer. Is the Chanel les beiges healthy glow powder be used alone or needs foundation then that powder? I don’t really like liquid foundation because the ones I’ve tried the Dior and other drugstore even benefit looks cakey on me or looks un natural. I haven’t found a foundation that looks natural. Any recommendation I have oily combination skin? I have the benefit hello flawless I love it at first but for some reason now it’s starting to cake… I think… Thank you so much!!!!

    • Everyone who has makeup should own a muji storage! The Chanel powder is def more of a setting powder than a powder foundation. It isn’t going to give you much coverage because its very lightweight. I’ve tried the Benefit powder and I totally agree with it caking up! M.A.C Studio Fix powder is excellent for oily skin so is the MUFE Pro-Finish Multi-Use powder (love that stuff). I hope that helps !!!!

      • Thank you! I will look into it… BTW MUFE multi use powder is sold out for my skin tone… 😦 but hopefully they will stock up again at sephora… I was going to purchase it for my 20% off. I also tried the mat jacobs gel
Foundation since I’m reading lots of reviews about it I like the texture consistency etc but I don’t know I couldn’t figure out but I didn’t like it when I look in the mirror… The new revlon balm pencil that you posted on budget buy is sold out also. Thank you so much!!!!

  2. I LURVVVVVV muji storage ! havent had the fortune to buy one for myself but I will definitely be buying one, some day x is the ysl base really good ? i want to buy one for myself for winter as my skin goes really dry in this weather ….do let me know !

    • You must get one its so sturdy and such good quality! The YSL base would be great for your dry skin! It’s leave a nice dewy finish to the skin not to mention the finish looks like actual skin! It’s def worth trying!!

    • oh you must convert!!! you won’t be disappointed probably one of the best purchases I’ve made all year!

  3. I absolutely love your blog photography. I’m jelly of your Muji Storage! You also have flawless taste in makeup. This comment is all over the place but you get the idea – I’m a fan. 🙂
