The Review

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Hourglass done did it again! As I mentioned before Sephora had their VIB sale over the weekend and all I was concerned about was snatching the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. It was sold out on the site in a matter of minutes so I called my store to make sure they would hold one for little ole me. The powders are a lot smaller in person but to me a decent size for the price tag. You can also easily fit a fluffy brush in the pan without it being a problem. If you haven’t tried the ambient powders this would be a perfect choice to get down to the nitty-gritty. It also includes a tiny sample of their Veil Mineral Primer which is my favorite primer of all time! The first powder in the palette is from the permanent range in the shade Dim Light which I’ve reviewed here. I own the full size and use this more as a setting powder for the face and under eye area. It really does blur imperfections and gives the skin a healthy glow without any shimmer being involved. Incandescent Light is the next shade and is exclusive to this palette. This is a pearl highlighting shade that looks great on the cheek bones, inner tear ducts and cupids bow. Last in the palette is Radiant Light which gives this bronzy golden glow to the skin. I like to dust this over my blush or even use it as a blush. If you are able to get a hold of it I highly suggest you do so now because the palette is limited edition. It will be a great travel companion and will meet all your powdering expectations. This is a more natural setting and highlighting palette so if you’re one for more fuller coverage look this might not be an option for you. The highlighting options are very subtle but still noticeable on the skin. I hold this dear to my heart and I’m very pleased with it, my only complaint would be that I know the gold hourglass writing on the palette will rub off with use but it really has nothing to do with the product itself. I just like it when things look pretty and this my friends is a beaut!

    • Ha that’s what I said but it’s nice to have it in a palette to travel with or you can easily use it as a touch up compact!
