The Routine

Holiday Look #1 : The Traditional Red Lip

This will be first installment of my Holiday Look Book! I decided to start with the basics and tick red lips off the list. Red is great to wear all year round but means so much more during the holidays. When wearing a really bold lip I advise to keep the rest of the face very simple and clean. I started out with Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Chamomile as my base. For concealing I used Bobbi Brown Peach Corrector under my eyes and Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger for pesky blemishes. I set that all with my Guerlain Meteorites Pressed Powder in 03 Tient Dore. Over that I used Jouer Bronzer in Suntan and just a hint of Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed. I wanted a neutral highlight so I reached for my trusty Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight and dusted a bit on the cheek bones. Onto the eyes I only used one eyeshadow for this look which is M.A.C Soba, a warm caramel brown. I curled my lashes and applied a ton of Maybelline Full & Soft WP Mascara for definition. On the brows I used some of the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Brunette to fill in sparse areas but still kept it to a minimum. For the main attraction I used M.A.C Brick Pencil to line the lips and Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella, a deep matte red. This red pencil is suitable for ton of skin tones and is a very chic color. You can always play up the eyes and do a nice cat flick but I like the lip to be the focal point of the makeup look. I’ll be back soon with something glittery and a bit more glam, oh yes Tammie does glitter . . .
