So I gave you guys a first look at my sad cork board in my motivational spaces post which was so plain and empty. If you don’t know what a mood board is well here is the 411. A mood board is a type of collage that may consist of images, text, and samples of objects in a composition of the choice of the mood board creator. I am one who hoards packaging and all stationary I can possibly find, am I the only one? I keep all types of knick knacks and items that have character to them. For instance I put up my daughters little foot prints from when she was born or cards that came with gifts from family. I reused a Chanel sleeve to act as a pen holder which works very well! I found the cutest wooden push pins at Target in their dollar section to use for my board. Target is probably one of my favorite places to purchase stationary from. Keep pretty inserts from different products because you can always cut them up and pin them too! I purchased my cork board from Walmart for about $8 then made a ribbon grid by simply taping the ends. There is no strategic placement involved when it comes to your board just slap it on however you like. I’ve seen mood boards that take up entire walls so don’t feel like you’re just restricted to a tiny board like mine, if you have the space go for it! I’ve just added a items that are appealing to my eye and go with the whole theme of my desk and blog. The mint because it matches my big book of blogging, baby pink because it matches the lip prints on my website header and neutrals to add contrast. Try different textures and items that are 3-D to balance it out and give it shape. You’ll see it start to unfold as it all comes together and you’re left with your own work of art!
