The Routine

The Bare Minimum

As of late my skin has been really good due to my water intake. I’m seeing less breakouts and overall the texture has just improved tremendously. So I’ve been opting for a more natural minimal approach when it comes to my makeup routine. For a moisturizer/primer I use Clarins Beauty Flash Balm to give my skin that dewy effect. I’ve skipped foundation all together and only use concealer in spots that I need it and for that I’ve been reaching for my Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger. It’s extremely pigment and long-lasting so I only need a tiny bit. I then use Laura Mercier’s Radiance Primer as a highlight which gives the skin a very lovely rose gold sheen. For cheeks I apply a bit of Jouer’s Tint in Peony which is a baby cool toned pink for a flush of color. On the eyes I kept it really simple and just curled my lashes, applied Maybelline’s Full & Soft Waterproof Mascara, and Rimmel Scandal Eyes Kohl in Purple along the waterline. I find that the pop of purple really makes my brown eyes stand out! For the lips I just dab Jouer’s Demi Matte Lipstick in Whitney, then I blend it with my finger. Over top of that I will add some Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose Kiss to sheer out the lipstick even more.

This routine is pretty much a more put together version of myself. It literally takes 5 minutes to do and I’m out the door.

  1. I need to develop a simple daily makeup routine akin to this. I find that I either go pretty much without makeup (save my black cateye and some lip balm) or I go all out with a full face of makeup. It would be so much better to just have a go to routine for day to day!
