Shadow on a stick is what I like to call these creamy waterproof shadows. This and your finger is all you need to do an easy everyday look or a fun smokey smudgy eye! I own more neutral shades of course but the come in loads of colors if you fancy something bright and fun. I rummaged through my collection and picked out my most reached for shadow sticks . . .
Clinique Chubby Sticks in Ample Amber & Fuller Fudge : These are two shades that everyone must own! Ample Amber is a pink champagne color and Fuller Fudge is a very warm bronze shade. I’ve done a review here and still continue on and on about them. There is another neutral shade I’ve been eyeing which I might pick up soon!
Urban Decay Glide on 24/7 Shadow Pencils in Sin, Juju, and Rehab : These came in a set a while ago and I’m not sure if they’re in the permanent range but the formula is brilliant! It’s seriously smudge budge proof and last all day on the eyelids. Sin is another sparkly champagne color, Juju is shimmery light taupe and Rehab is your traditional purple based taupe. You must work quickly with these because they do set once applied.
Jouer Crème Eyeshadow Crayon in Abstract : This is the creamiest (there is that word again) eyeshadow pencil I’ve come across yet! Abstract is a black with silver shimmer in it, makes it great for a night out with the girls. The shadow is very easy to blend and smoke out for a more subtle look.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige : This is a wonderful formula considering the price and the fact that it’s a drugstore item. I ran out and got this when I watched a video that Lisa Eldridge did and had to have it! This is great for everyday beacuse the shimmer really makes the eyes pop with some mascara on curled lashes giving them shape and definition.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in French Fries : This is another drugstore pencil that come in an array of colors but they crease like a mofo if you don’t apply a base underneath. The key is to apply this in thin layers and blend. French Fries is a coppery bronze shade with a little rust to it.
All of these are great on their own or I’ll layer powder eyeshadows on top to make the color pop! Eyeshadow sticks are great for on the go, just toss them in your bag and apply more throughout the day. I’m not one to fuss with eyeshadow on a daily basis but give me eyeshadow on a stick and I’m all over that sucker!
