Entry #8: DIY Mint Lip Scrub

Here’s what you’ll need to whip up this simple lip scrub without having to spend a fortune . . .

  1. Honey
  2. Sugar
  3. Lip Balm of choice ( I used my Jack Black lip balm in mint, Burt’s Bees also do a good stick one too that you can chop up)
  4. Vanilla Extract (optional)
  5. Empty pot with secure lid
  6. Measuring spoons
  7. Spatula or mixing tool
  8. Plate for working surface

I chose a minty balm as my base because it feels cooling and refreshing on the lips. You can use as much balm as you like just make sure it fits in the pot or container you are using. The pot I’m using is similar to a M.A.C paint pot jar for size reference. Put the balm in a plate, add 1/4 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of sugar and about 4 drops of vanilla extract. Mix it all together and feel free to add more ingredients to get the consistency you want. I like it to be very grainy so I added a bit more sugar to the mix. Next take your mixing tool scoop it all up and put it into the pot. Tada! You now have an awesome moisturizing scrub which you can also wrap up and give as a gift to someone special!

  1. just a quick tip for anyone trying this, if you have any dry gel liners, clean out the little jar and use that to put your lipscrub in.
great post, can’t wait to try it.

  2. Purchased almost the same thing at LUSH, and I am obsessed with it. It seriously makes my lips so smooth!
