I have to admit the name of this foundation had me a bit worried, I cringed at the site of “Long-wear” had me thinking of Studio Fix Fluid (horror story which I’ll share sometime, still gives me nightmares). Now the concoction in this bottle is simply amazing! First I am in the shade 4.5 Warm Natural and its a perfect match for my NC35 skin tone. I wanted a bit of a fuller coverage foundation for the summer nights and I skipped on in to Sephora to snatch a sample. I then tested it all week, ran back into Sephora on a mission and one thing in mind, Bobbi Brown 4.5 long-wear. I was first turned off during the first application of this foundation because of the mint, eucalyptus, lavender scent. I begged the beauty gods to be merciful and keep me from braking out, they heard my prayer. The scent doesn’t linger and I have to say there is something quite refreshing about it. It reminds me of Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir herbal scent. Now it indeed contains lavender in it so those with sensitive or acne prone skin you are advised, test it out first !!!! It’s a semi-matte finish and what I love about it is that throughout wear it will let a bit of your natural oil shine through which is nice when it can be kept under control. It melts into the skin and lasts all day. It doesn’t oxidize, flake, or get cakey. I would truly purchase this bad boy again just because of the finish alone. Although it contains an SPF of 15 it photographs beautifully and you don’t get any of that nasty unwanted flash back. This has made its way into my top 5 foundations so move over YSL and Chanel, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear is here to stay !

  1. Came all the way back here to read this post after seeing your most recent one. I use the exact same shade as you, and love it for all the same reasons! I think my favourite thing about Bobbi is the shade range. I get such a perfect match with her foundations. x
